Create Immersive Shopping Experiences
Technological advances in recent years have led to a surge in online purchases. Consumers are armed with smartphones, mobile payment systems, a wide accessibility of products and fast internet connections. This means that purchases can be made with a single swipe. But if there’s one thing missing from the online shopping experience, it’s being able to get up close and personal with the item in your shopping basket before you click buy. This is where AR comes in.
Accessible to anyone with a camera-enabled smartphone and an internet connection, Threedium’s AR Solutions empower shoppers to see how a product looks in their space in extraordinary detail. This seamless AR experience requires no extra plugins or applications. Rather, customers can use their phone browser to bring products to life by placing them in their actual surroundings, exploring them from different angles, and making confident purchasing decisions.

How to trigger the AR Experience:
Step 1: Click on the AR button on the top left-hand corner of the screen. This will bring up AR mode using your phone camera. iPhone users can then tap on the AR button at the top of the screen, while Android users can tap on the ‘View in your space’ button.
Step 2: Point your phone to the space where you would like the item to appear and move it around as per the instructions until the object appears, and voila! You can see the item right in front of you, in real time, and life-size dimensions.
Step 3: Move your phone around the item and get up close and personal with it to really get a feel of what it would look like in your home, plus a real-time view of its features and dimensions. This helps increase buyer confidence and, subsequently, improve conversion rates.
The Desktop Experience
Customers who do their online shopping on their computers can simply use their phone to scan the QR code of the item they are viewing, and follow the same steps as above to view the item in AR.
.
The Offline Experience
QR codes can be used to redirect users to the AR view of their product, allowing retailers to add an extra dimension to their products by creating interactive content. Available to use anywhere – on shelves, in print magazines – and without the need to download an app or create an account, customers can access AR at the click of a button, anytime, anywhere.
Is AR right for me?
By providing your customers with immersive shopping experiences, you are offering them a wealth of information about the product they’re looking to buy, and creating access that was previously unavailable to them. Consumers can now answer questions like ‘how big is it?’ and ‘what will it look like in this corner of my house?’ Field sales agents can also utilize AR to demonstrate how their products will look on shelves in shops, and limit the need for product sampling.
The AR experience can be utilized with any number of industries and products. See examples below and experience them through our demos:
